  • Reminder of Business Licence Renewal Deadline

    Business owners in the City of West Kelowna have until January 31 to renew their licences for 2018. A late charge of $25 applies to business licences renewed after the deadline.

    The City of West Kelowna mailed renewal notices in December to more than 1,650 existing business licence holders.

  • Holiday hours at City facilities

    Kelowna City Hall will be closed for the holidays from Monday, Dec. 25, through Monday, Jan. 1, 2018, reopening and returning to regular hours on Tuesday, Jan. 2.

  • One week to save on 2017 Central Okanagan dog licenses

    Tuesday, Feb. 28 is the deadline for dog owners in the Central Okanagan to save.

    That’s the last day for purchasing a new license or renewing an existing license for 2017 at the discounted rate of $20 for a dog that’s spayed or neutered and $60 if not.

    Starting March 1, licenses go up the regular annual rate of $40 and $80.

  • New app makes dog license renewal in Central Okanagan quick and easy

    It’s easier for dog owners in the Central Okanagan to save when they purchase or renew their dog license for 2017. And renewing can be quicker than ever.

    That’s thanks to the ‘My Dog Matters’ App created for the Regional District of Central Okanagan. The App is believed to be the first developed for local governments in Canada and brings the opportunity to renew a dog license right to an owner’s mobile device.
  • Kelowna City facility holiday hours

    Kelowna City Hall will be closed for the holidays from Monday, Dec. 26, 2016 through Monday, Jan. 2, 2017.

    Essential City services such as police, fire, water, wastewater treatment and snow removal will remain in operation.

    “The City is able to reduce hours over the holidays, since few people do business at City Hall during this time,” said Stu Leatherdale, Human Resources & Corporate Performance Divisional Director.
  • Kelowna Council to review 2017 budget

    Kelowna City Council will receive an overview presentation of the 2017 Financial Plan at the Dec. 12 regular meeting, where staff will recommend a 4.40 per cent tax increase. Deliberation of the provisional plan will take place during an all-day public meeting Thursday, Dec. 15.
