Kelowna City facility holiday hours

Kelowna City Hall will be closed for the holidays from Monday, Dec. 26, 2016 through Monday, Jan. 2, 2017.

Essential City services such as police, fire, water, wastewater treatment and snow removal will remain in operation.

“The City is able to reduce hours over the holidays, since few people do business at City Hall during this time,” said Stu Leatherdale, Human Resources & Corporate Performance Divisional Director. “The closure provides an opportunity for staff to spend time with their families during the holiday season, while being economical for the City. Staff must account for days off during the closure with vacation time and hours from other earned leave banks.”

Parkinson Recreation Centre will be closed Dec. 25 and 26. However, the Centre will be open New Year’s Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Glenmore Landfill will be closed Dec. 25, 26 and Jan. 1, open to commercial only on Dec. 26, with the landfill office closed Dec. 26 until Jan. 3.

For water, sewer, parks, roads, snow removal and after hour inquiries during the closure contact the Civic Operations’ call centre at 250-469-8600.

Residents wishing to make payments or do business with the City (e.g. renew a business licence – due Jan. 15) over the closure can come in before the holidays or visit kelowna.ca for 24/7 online options. For information about purchasing transit passes and tickets, visit the BC Transit website.

The City of Kelowna’s social media channels will be quiet over the holidays. For more information about the City and holiday hours at City facilities, visit kelowna.ca.
