The Munro Lake wildfire near Peachland grew overnight to 220 hectares, and there are evacuation orders and alerts for hundreds of properties.
Peachland municipal firefighters and BC Wildfire crews are on the ground fighting the fire, according to the latest update from Central Okanagan Emergency Operations today, Sept. 26.
Structure defences have been put in place with emphasis on the east side of the fire closest to Peachland since there is wind in the forecast and conditions are dry.
The evacuation orders and alerts put in place last night remain in effect. There are 325 properties on evacuation order and 1,114 properties on alert.
The fire is suspected to be human caused.
There is a 30 per cent chance of showers overnight and a 60 per cent chance of showers tomorrow. Environment Canada is forecasting winds around 30 km/h.
