Vernon ultra-athlete Shanda Hill won the DecaUltraTri Continuous Double Deca, a seemingly impossible triathlon in Mexico.
Hill biked 3,600 kilometres, ran 844 km and swam 76 km over 26 days to get her third DecaUltraTri finish.
Of the six athletes who entered the race only three finished because of how gruelling the challenge is.
Hill managed to outpace Germany’s Ronny Roesler and take the top spot.
She competed in this event after doing another extreme triathlon in Buchs, Switzerland last month.
Between the two races Hill swam 152 km, biked 7,200 km, and ran 1,688 km, in just two months. This race has earned Hill the world record for the most long-distance triathlons completed in a calendar year.
