VERNON - Police continue to investigate a two vehicle accident that left a woman with life changing injuries.

RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk said an appeal for information generated several tips about the Dec. 3 car crash, which left a 44-year-old woman with numerous broken bones and a fractured spine. She continues to recover at Vancouver General Hospital.

The driver of the other vehicle involved in the accident fled the scene. He was driving a blue Jeep.

“We did get some calls (from the public) and our officers are following up,” Molendyk said. “We probably have all we need.”

The driver who ran from the scene has not been arrested yet, though the investigation is still active.

Molendyk said he isn’t at liberty to comment on other aspects of the accident—such as why the driver ran from the scene—at the present time.
