Kamloops RCMP believe the same suspect is responsible for two robberies early this morning.
The first robbery was a gas station on the 900 block of Columbia Street, where a man walked in and demanded cash around 2:30 a.m., March 15, according to an RCMP news release. He ran northbound from the gas station.
The second robbery was at a business on the 1500 block of Summit Drive. In this case, a man matching the same description left with cash.
Police didn't say whether the man was successful in his first attempt or whether he threatened to use a weapon while demanding cash from store employees.
Kamloops RCMP believe the same suspect, described as a six-foot tall Caucasian man, was behind both incidents.
He's described as being between 30 and 40 years old and around 200 lb. He was wearing a black hoodie with New Balance written on the front, with blue pants, black runners and a black mask.
“Kamloops RCMP frontline officers continue to investigate these robberies with the assistance of the General Investigations Support Team and Forensic Identification Unit,” Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in the news release.
It's not clear whether police responded to either location around the time of the incidents.
The suspect is believed to be "associated with" a small black car that drove off northbound on Summit Drive, RCMP said.
“If anyone saw, heard or captured video of anything that may be related, please contact police as soon as possible," Evelyn said.
Those with information or video surveillance can call the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2023-8626 or 2023-8633.
