Tk'emlups shows everyone is welcome with new pride crosswalk

There is a new a pride crosswalk at Tk'emlups te Secwépemc’s Chief Louis Centre.

The colourful patterns are found in communities where everybody can feel welcome regardless or sexual orientation or gender identity.

“We are a community that is open, responsive, and respectful of the rights and individuality of all people,” Kukpi7 Rosanne Casimir said in a media release.

“Everyone matters and deserves to be treated with dignity. Our members and all those that visit our community will know that we are inclusive and welcoming, which are our values as Secwépemc.”

The new crosswalk on Tk'emlúps land can be found at the intersection of Powwow Trail and Chief Eli LaRue Way.
