The emergency room at South Okanagan General Hospital in Oliver is going to be closed overnight.
The emergency department is closed between 6 p.m. on March 24 to 7 a.m. on March 25 due to limited doctor availability.
The other inpatient services at the hospital will still be available.
Patients who need emergency care have been directed to Penticton Regional Hospital during the closure.
Anyone who needs emergency care for things like chest pains, difficulty breathing, and severe bleeding should always call 9-1-1 for transport to the closest emergency room.
If people are unsure whether they need to go to an emergency room they can call 8-1-1 or go to HealthLinkBC for non-emergency information from healthcare professionals.
