A popular outdoor skating rink nestled in Kelowna's city centre has closed for the season.
The Stuart Park rink was originally set to remain open until Sunday, Feb. 28, but according to the City of Kelowna, warm temperatures throughout the week have resulted in the need to close the rink early.
The ice surface can not be maintained at a safe level, according to a post to the City's website.
Residents who have booked skating times will be contacted directly via email.
Kelowna's outdoor ice rink is typically open for free public skating from December to late February into early March each year, depending on the weather.
Record-breaking warm temperatures were reported throughout the Interior this week.
