Vernon's Canadian Tire is set reopen its auto service following a devastating fire last month.

The blaze at Canadian Tire in the Village Green Shopping Centre in Vernon broke out early in the morning on Nov. 19. Investigators believe the fire was deliberately set, but RCMP aren't releasing details. It's under investigation at this time, said Cpl. Tania Finn, with the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP, via email.

Vernon Fire Rescue reported significant damage to the exterior of the building and minor fire and smoke damage inside. No injuries were reported.

The department store's auto service centre will reopen Monday, Dec. 5 at 8 a.m. and will remain open from Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to a post on the store's Facebook page today, Dec. 2.

"The remainder of our store is still currently closed due to repairs from a fire. We are working hard to re-open the store as soon as possible to serve the community of Vernon," according to the post.

The store owner could not be immediately reached for comment.
