KAMLOOPS - The suspect who allegedly led police in Kamloops on a chase after running a stop sign has been arrested and charged.
Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says in a news release that Joshua Real Charles Foucalt, the owner of the suspect vehicle, has been charged with several counts.
On Nov. 22, a police officer tried pulling over an SUV near Heffley Creek on the Yellowhead Highway but the driver refused to stop and "drove recklessley" before ramming into the passenger side of a cruiser, Shelkie says.
The vehicle allegedly sped away and police identified the vehicle and the driver later that day. The next day, the SUV was recovered unoccupied near Barriere.
Foucalt is facing charges of dangerous driving, evading police, assault with a motor vehicle and breach of probation. He was arrested without incident yesterday, Dec. 4, Shelkie says in the release.
