RCMP say several people were injured in a crash between two powerboats on Okanagan Lake near the Bennett bridge last night.
The two boats crashed about 500 metres south of the bridge at around 8:41 p.m. yesterday, Aug. 27, according to a West Kelowna RCMP media release.
Emergency crews, including paramedics, firefighters, RCMP officers and volunteers with Central Okanagan Search and Rescue responded to the collision.
RCMP say when the boats crashed on of the two ended up on top of the other.
The injured passengers were in one of the two boats, and were treated at the scene by paramedics.
Police say neither impairment nor weather conditions were a factor in the crash as the investigation into the cause continues.
Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has video footage is asked to contact West Kelowna RCMP at 250-768-2880 and reference file number 2025-51567.
