ORIGINAL STORY
VERNON – Police are concerned about the safety of a woman who went missing from a mental health facility in Vernon yesterday, Dec. 18.
RCMP are asking for the public’s help to find Aurelia Wedenig, 65, so she can receive medical attention.
“Inquiries and searches of the places Wedenig has been known to frequent have been done but she has not been found,” Sgt. Mike Moyer says in a media release.
A ground crew from Vernon Search and Rescue is combing Polson Park and the area around the Green Valley Motel this morning.
Police say Wedenig is a Caucasian woman, about 5’6” tall, 149 lbs. with green eyes, blond/grey hair with a mole on her right cheek. She has an Austrian accent and was wearing wire rim glasses, a purple/teal jacket and walking shoes.
Anyone who has seen Wedenig or has information about her whereabouts is asked to call the Vernon RCMP at 250-545-7171.
