KELOWNA - Central Okanagan Search and Rescue crews hit the streets last night in Kelowna to look for a missing elderly man.

The man was located approximately seven kilometres from his assisted living home near downtown Kelowna, COSAR search manager Ephraim Nowak says in a release.

Nowak says crews were called out at 11 p.m., Nov. 3, to help the police search for the missing man. Crews searched between Prospera Place to the end of Gordon Drive in the Mission area.

“With temperatures dropping overnight, we had to cover a large area in a short amount of time,” Nowak says in the release. “Additional SAR personnel were requested from Vernon and Penticton to assist in the search.”

When found early this morning, the missing senior was taken to Kelowna General Hospital by the B.C. Ambulance Service.
