RCMP take-down in Okanagan Provincial Park

PENTICTON - Two men with criminal records were nabbed by the RCMP when they attempted to flee on foot after police began following their car.

Penticton RCMP worked in cooperation with Summerland members as they followed a car, stolen out of Chilliwack all the way from Summerland into Okanagan Provincial Park Sept. 18.

The men ditched the car at the far end of the park and took off northbound where they were taken down by RCMP who were also on foot.

Both were arrested for possession of stolen property and held for a bail hearing the next day. They face a number of proposed charges.

One of the men was from Chilliwack where a warrant for his arrest is outstanding. The second man is from Penticton. Both men have lengthy criminal records.
