KELOWNA - Kelowna RCMP is trying to track down the owner of an unmanned sailboat that crashed into a dock on Okanagan Lake this week.

The RCMP were alerted to the boat adrift on the lake after receiving a call shortly after 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, to assist the Kelowna Fire Department who had responded to a report of a sailboat that had crashed into the dock of a property located in the 800 block of Manhattan Drive in Kelowna.

Police and fire crews worked to remove the 24-foot vessel that had become partially wedged underneath the dock. Crews searched the boat but were unable to find anything onboard that identified the vessels owner.

Police describe the boat as white, with red and yellow pin-striping and a dark blue hull.

Anyone with any information that may assist police in establishing the rightful owner of the boat is asked to contact Const. Calyton McColl of the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.
