A Penticton woman didn’t think her scratch ticket looked like a winner after playing the game, but after scanning the barcode just to be sure – it turned out to be a $50,000 winner.
“I had scratched the top of the ticket and didn’t even bother looking at the bottom,” Lisa Doucette said in a BC Lottery Corporation media release. “I always check all my tickets just in case on the app. When I scanned the ticket I had to check it over and over.”

Doucette was excited to tell her family right away but they were all asleep.
“I ended up texting my mom to share the good news. My family is super happy for me," she said.
