A Kamloops woman who matched all seven numbers on her Maxmillions ticket won $500,000.

“I don’t have any big plans to celebrate,” Alison Trulsen said. “However, my husband and I plan on having pizza… it’s nice not having to cook.”

Trulsen purchased her ticket at Aberdeen Hills Petro-Canada and she realized she won upon scanning it on a self-checker.

The feeling is “indescribable” and “surprising,” she said.

“For this ticket, I didn’t check the Maxmillions so I didn’t even know I had won… when I went to Petro-Canada and saw that it was a winner I was so surprised.”

Her husband was the first person she broke the news to.

“I still couldn’t believe it and had to share the news with him. He was pretty happy.”

Beyond the pizza date with her husband, Trulsen doesn’t have any big plans for her money yet, so she will put it away for a rainy day or invest it in the meantime.

Somebody from Quebec also hit all seven numbers on last week’s draw so both lotto winners split the $1,000,000 Lotto Max prize.
