Someone was injured in an overnight shooting in Kamloops and four people are in custody.
Officers were called to the 100 block of Chestnut Avenue on the North Shore at around midnight, Sept. 11, according to an RCMP media release.
Shots were heard and one person was taken to hospital, but they have since been released. Police are expected to be in the area for most of the day.
“Evidence shows that this was a targeted shooting, as with all shootings we are taking this seriously. Officers responded quickly and took four people into custody,” Kamloops RCMP media relations officer Cpl. Dana Napier said in the release.
“We are asking people to please avoid the area as our investigators are expected to remain at the scene throughout much of the day.”
