LONDON - Canadian shot putter Dylan Armstrong will not be bringing a medal home from the London Olympics.
The 31-year-old Kamloops, B.C., native, who was ranked first in the world last year, threw 20.93 metres to finish fifth.
Tomasz Majewski of Poland threw 21.89 for gold while Germany's David Storl won silver with a throw of 21.86.
American Reese Hoffa took bronze with 21.23.
The six-foot-four, 345-pound Armstrong missed out on a medal by less than a centimetre at the 2008 Olympics.
Armstrong threw 20.49 metres in qualifying to book his ticket in the final.
