A North Okanagan nurse that signed out medication but didn't give it to patients has been suspended for three months.
According to an Aug. 25 B.C. College of Nurses and Midwives decision, Armstrong licenced practical nurse Davia Vancaillie also faked her colleagues' signatures on the paperwork regarding unused narcotics on at least five occasions.
The decision said Vancaillie signed for medication but didn't give it out on nine occasions. She also failed to adequately document three patient falls and used her phone to check social media.

The incidents are said to have taken place between July 3 and Oct. 27, 2020.
Vancaillie signed a consent resolution agreement admitting to the behaviour and wrote a letter of apology to her employer. The decision doesn't say what care facility Vancaillie was working at.
The college suspended Vancaillie's licence for three weeks and put her on a period of probation.
Vancaillie is now restricted from being the sole nurse on duty, supervising students, working in charge of the unit, or orientating new staff members for six months. She will also be barred from working nights for three months.
