VERNON - If you plan on partying long into New Year's Eve in Vernon on Monday, you'll have to rely on friends and taxis to get you home safe.
The Vernon Regional Transit System is operating on a normal schedule on Dec. 31, meaning there will be now transit service long before revellers greet 2019 at midnight.
The transit system, which services Lumby, Coldstream, Spallumcheen, Armstrong and Vernon, will be out of service on Jan. 1. Regular service will resume on Jan. 2.
The 90 UBCO connector, which travels between UBC Okanagan and Vernon, will also resume regular service on Jan. 2. It has been making only four daily weekday trips since Dec. 19 as part of a reduced holiday schedule.
If you're still making your New Year's Eve plans, be sure to go here to find out what to do Dec. 31.
