VERNON - As 2018 gets ready to kick the bucket, the North Okanagan is preparing for one last party to send the year out in style on Dec. 31. While staying home with a pizza, friends, and a television feed of festivities across the world can be fun on New Year's Eve, don't forget about the bevy of entertainment options in the Vernon area as we ring in 2019.

Few things scream New Year's Eve better than fireworks. Silver Star Mountain Resort will be launching the sky dazzlers early in the night immediately following a parade. The light show begins at 7:30 p.m. at the village centre.

If you're looking to start 2019 on a classy note, you can't do better than Frank Sinatra and his pals. The Prestige Vernon Lodge is hosting a Rat Pack concert and dinner starting at 6 p.m. Tickets cost $80.

Step back in time for an old Hollywood event at Sparkling Hills resort on New Year's Eve. For $499, two adults can enjoy two nights of music, food, champagne, and Tinseltown glamour.

For those looking to get away from the city for New Year's, the Enderby Splatsin Centre has you covered. They're hosting a dinner and dance party with live music from Big Idea. Tickets, which cost $65 per person, are on sale until Dec. 28.

Want something simple? Bars like Turtle Bay Pub, Martens Brewpub, the Outboard Waterfront Pub, and others will be hosting music and dance parties all night long.

Check out the City of Vernon event calendar for more event listings. Happy New Year!
