Man arrested and released after causing havoc at Kamloops coffee shop

A man was briefly detained after he blocked the exit of a coffee shop and urinated on the building in downtown Kamloops this weekend.

Police were called after he jammed the exit door at a Victoria Street coffee shop with a pole.

He was "throwing stuff all over" and causing a disturbance before police arrived around 2:10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, according to an RCMP news release.

The suspect was walking down the street by the time police found him. He had a shovel and a screwdriver in his hand and was yelling.

Officers arrested him and lodged him in cells to "prevent continuation" and he was later released without process, RCMP said.

No other information is included in the RCMP news release.
