KELOWNA - RCMP are asking the public for information on an incident where a cyclist was allegedly struck by a vehicle.

On July 11 the Kelowna RCMP received a report that the incident took place at approximately 5:45 p.m. in the 1300-block of Bernard Avenue when the cyclist was heading east and was reportedly struck by a driver using a private laneway to do a U-turn in the residential area.

The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and required medical treatment, according to an RCMP media release.

The suspect vehicle is described as a red Ford Mustang, possibly a 2006 or 2007 model with a black convertible soft top.

The Mustang convertible reportedly fled from the scene west along Bernard Avenue and was last seen turning onto Richmond Street.

If you witnessed this collision and have not yet spoken to police, you were the driver involved, or you have any information about the incident that may assist investigators, you are asked to call the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.
