PENTICTON - A Penticton craft brewer is pairing up with the winner of the Okanagan Home Brewers Club competition.
Derek Hyde from Kelowna won the opportunity to brew a beer at Bad Tattoo’s Penticton facility.
Hyde’s first large scale commercial brew will be a seasonal beer under the Bad Tattoo label, according to a media release.
He says the opportunity to brew beer with Bad Tattoo “legitimizes my hobby.”
“I’m excited by this opportunity. I’ve never brewed on such a large scale before. It will be interesting to learn how things are done professionally,” Hyde says in the release.
Hyde will work closely with head brewer Robert Theroux to create a recipe for the beer. The pair will kick off the first stage of brewing on May 21 and will produce 2,000 litres.
