The 2021 Kamloops Y Dream Home Lottery broke a record by selling out of all of its value packs.

The dream home lottery was so inundated with people trying to purchase tickets for a chance to win its $720,000 dream home yesterday, May 5, that the website was shut down for a few hours.

Tickets purchased in the lottery support Kamloops YMCA-YWCA programs and is a popular fundraiser event each year.

Last year saw the record for value pack ticket sales, which were sold out in two days. This year's group tickets, which the Y announced were sold out in a few hours, broke that record.

“Your support means the world to us, and we are so thankful! We truly appreciate each and every one of you for your desire to support healthy programs for kids and families in Kamloops,” a Kamloops Y Dream Home Lottery Facebook post reads.

Raffle three-pack tickets are also sold out.

The dream home has a total of 2,802 square feet with three bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and is located at 105-2575 Elston Dr.

The lottery winner will be announced June 30 at 9 a.m., and will be live streamed from the dream home location.

Single tickets for the dream home are still available and can be purchased until 5 p.m., June 27, through the Y's website here.
