Under heat warnings and high temperatures, Kamloops is opening the Sandman Centre as a cooling station today.
It's open today at noon until 8 p.m. to provide reprieve for anyone living outdoors and will remain open while the city is under an Environment Canada heat warning. The City of Kamloops said in a release it's also offering bottled water and watching for signs of heat stroke.
Temperatures are expected to hit 35 C today and perhaps for several days.
To stay cool, consider using a local water park, drinking fountains with potable water, and washrooms with potable water at various park locations throughout the city. For a list of outdoor locations with heat relief amenities, visit Kamloops.ca/Heat.
