Heads up drivers, a so-called freedom convoy of trucks is being organized for later this month in the Thompson-Okanagan region.
The “Freedom Convoy Tribute 2025: Canada Unites the World” is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 25.
The convoy members will gather in Princeton early in the morning and travel along Highway 97 through the Okanagan to Kamloops and then back to Vernon in the afternoon, according to a social media post.
A business listed as a stop in Kamloops, Direct Buy Trucks, said it has no affiliation with the convoy and the business was listed on the social media post without the company's knowledge.
The event has been organized by a group called The Resistance and the group's founder Saerah Bankert declined to comment.
The event is a callback to the 2022 Freedom Convoy protest against COVID-19 pandemic measures in Ottawa.
