It is so out there, the mindset of the authorities on these things. It is no difference in tapping once or twice, whether it is a built in screen or a SP. On top of that the whole issue of hands free is a head scratcher. Everyone drives with one hand anyway, pretty much, so what does it matter if the conversation is hands free or holding your phone? It is looking at texts or face time where accidents occur. — Noah Liguori, via iNFOnews.ca

I know many people who are getting hit with this “distracted driving” ticket, including me. The laws a joke. Even if you have a phone sitting in your vehicle within reach you can end up with this ticket, like me. When you go to court to fight it, like me, it’s practically pointless due to the wording of the law. I understand not having people being on their cell phones while driving, but this law instead of sitting at a happy sensible medium has gone from one side of something needs to be done, to you don’t even need to be holding it, let alone using the device, and this is called distracted driving? It’s not distracted driving. It’s just a law created to be another cash grab. — Ted Jamieson, via iNFOnews.ca

Yet this person can and does use the touch screen in the car while driving? I get holding a phone and using it while driving is bad as it is, but having to look at the touch controls in a modern car to use them really isn’t any better and at least he was at a red light. — Dick Dawson, via iNFOnews.ca

Minister backs Kamloops council advisor despite mayor's criticism
We need to boot out all Councillors and Mayor as we, the citizens of Kamloops, voted them in. I don’t believe this mess is only the Mayor’s fault, but when we have another election, I truly hope we can have some people that get along and actually want to build our city. Personally I will not vote for anyone who is in Council Office or the Mayor we have now in the next election, as I feel they are all to blame for the goings on at City Hall in Kamloops. — Arlene Deschutter-Huska, via iNFOnews.ca
