Kamloops residents can become real estate moguls in their own city with a new Monopoly-inspired board game.

Outset Media has launched the limited edition Kamloops-Opoly, which includes iconic Kamloops locations on the board.

“Outset Media is excited to help families across Canada celebrate where they live. These games were created to help people appreciate some things they cherish about their community,” Jean-Paul Teskey, senior vice-president of Outset Media, said in a news release.

Now you can buy up downtown Kamloops or the Kamloops Art Gallery and charge your friends and family rent for visiting, or lose a turn after eating too many crab cakes at Brownstone.

The Monopoly-inspired game is part of a series that features other Canadian cities, including Vernon, Penticton and Salmon Arm.

Outset Media is a Canadian company based in Victoria.

According to the release, Kamloops-Opoly is available exclusively at Walmart, and costs around $30.
