Kamloops RCMP have launched an arson investigation after a house fire in Brocklehurst early this morning.

Officers were dispatched to a house fire in the 1700 block of Brunner Avenue at around 3 a.m. today, March 13, according to an RCMP media release.

Upon their arrival, firefighters were already on scene and smoke was seen coming out of a window.

“Two people were reported as throwing something into the house, then fleeing the area – one on a bike,” Cpl. Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson, said in the release.

The fire was rapidly extinguished and no one was injured.

Police are present in the area today as officers conduct neighbourhood inquiries to further the investigation.

Anyone with relevant information, dash camera or security footage is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2024-7335.
