Highway 5 Southbound closed by a commercial vehicle incident

KAMLOOPS - An incident involving commercial vehicles has closed the southbound lanes of Highway 5 between Merritt and Hope.

According to Drive B.C., commercial vehicles have spun out on the Coquihalla today, Dec. 19, which has closed the southbound lane. The Coquihalla from Kamloops to Vancouver, as well as the Highway 97C connector, are under travel advisories, likely until tomorrow. 

The estimated time of opening is between 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Drive B.C.'s next scheduled update is 4:30 p.m.

No injuries have been reported by Drive B.C. or the RCMP at this time.
