Highway 3 has closed this afternoon east of Hope as power lines have blocked the road.

The power lines are located about 16 kilometres east of Hope, between First Avalanche Gate and Sunshine Valley.

Both lanes are currently blocked and an assessment is in progress.

Weather alerts are in effect for the Trans-Canada Highway, Coquihalla Highway, Highway 3 and the Okanagan Connector due to snow.
