Footage of grizzly bear fight on B.C. highway goes viral

When Cari McGillivray saw two grizzly bears on a northern B.C. highway, she had the right idea: stand back and let the scene play out.

Luckily, she also decided to pull out her camera. The video detailing the fight between the bears was posted to McGillivray's Facebook page Friday, Sept. 20 and has been shared more than 2,100 times as of Saturday afternoon.

"Don’t normally post on here but thought I’d share this incredibly rare and amazing moment with all you guys of these grizzlies fighting," McGillivray wrote.

While the location of the footage isn't specified, one commenter suggests that the battle was captured on Highway 37A between Stewart and the Meziadin Junction in northern B.C.

The roughly one-minute video has received more than 800 reactions and 56,000 views on McGillivray's original post.

McGillivray has not yet responded to a request for comment.
