PENTICTON - The federal minister of tourism will be making a stop in Penticton later this month to talk about Canada’s new federal tourism strategy.

Along with the national tourism plan, Tourism Minister Melanie Joly will talk about new job opportunities and economic growth at a Penticton & Wine Country Chamber of Commerce luncheon on Thursday, May 23, according to a media release.

“We are pleased to have the Minister of Tourism visit Penticton just before we enter our busy tourist season,” Chamber president Nicole Clark said in the release.

The Chamber luncheon is at noon on May 23 in the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre and is open to the public. Tickets can be purchased on the Penticton & Wine Country Chamber’s website here.
