Blue Bombers release second-year CFL defensive lineman Rodney Fritz

WINNIPEG - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have released second-year import defensive lineman Rodney Fritz.

Fritz was signed to the practice roster in 2011 and played three games before missing a chunk of the season due to injury, but played in the East final and Grey Cup.

Last week he was relegated to third on the depth chart at defensive end behind second-year starter Jason Vega and Youri Yenga, who the bombers picked up last month as a free agent.
