Highway 5A between Kamloops and Merritt has finally reopened after water flooded the road earlier this month.

The road was closed in both directions due to flooding between the junction at Highway 97C and Hillside Way.

The road is now open to single-lane alternating traffic, according to Drive BC.

A temporary gravel surface is in place along with a 50 per cent legal axle load restriction. Drive BC is telling drivers to expect delays.
