SALMON ARM - An evacuation order has been lifted for 10 homes near Salmon Arm after fears of a landslide subsided.
The Columbia Shuswap Regional District ordered residents of the homes to evacuate on Saturday night after a slope in the area became unstable due to water runoff.
The regional district says in a release that people were allowed to return to their properties Sunday afternoon after geotechnical crews examined the area.
It says the crews determined the water had returned to the appropriate drainage channels.
The regional district says people are encouraged to check their properties and determine if they need sandbags.
It also says the Ministry of Transportation has done work to help prevent water from overflowing from the ditch and running onto the road.
