BERLIN - Police in southern Germany say two people have died after a small plane crashed into Lake Constance shortly before noon Tuesday.
The plane was travelling from the Swiss city of Zurich to Hamburg with a pilot and a passenger on board when it ditched near the German town of Konstanz, just across the border.
German news agency dpa quoted witness Thomas Perzl saying the light aircraft appeared to be having difficulties before it fell vertically about 500 metres (1,640 feet) into the water.
Police recovered human remains and plane debris from the site.
