Firefighting crews have been dispatched to a wildfire near Peachland.
The Munro Lake Forest Service Road wildfire is around six kilometres southwest of Peachland, south of Brenda Mines Road, according to BC Wildfire Service and Central Okanagan Emergency Operations.
There are strong winds in the area so the fire is at a rank three or four, meaning it’s a vigorous surface fire with a moderate to fast rate of spread.
It is currently at 10 hectares and out of control.
Peachland Fire Department and wildfire service ground crews are on the scene with air support.
The Emergency Operations Centre is being activated.
The cause of the fire is under investigation and there are no area restrictions as of 4 p.m. on Sept. 25.
