Revelstoke Mountain Resort has been forced to close due to circumstances indirectly caused by COVID-19.

Revelstoke Mountain Resort made an announcement on the resort’s Facebook page saying the mountain would not open today, March 31, due to staff shortages caused by COVID-19 related circumstances.

In an operations update bulletin issued on the mountain’s web page this morning, it was further announced the resort is now closed for the season.

Unused lift tickets can be returned for a full refund or credit, Revelstoke Mountain Resort vice-president of operations Peter Neilsen said in a statement.

“Due to a staff shortage in our mountain operations attributed to COVID-19 circumstances, we have made the difficult decision to cease operations for the 2020-21 winter season,” Neilsen said.

The resort is expecting to reopen on May 21 for the summer season.
