Chase RCMP investigating thefts, mischief

CHASE - A generator, utility trailer and a truck were stolen in three different thefts in the last week of August and Chase RCMP are hoping the public can help.

On Aug. 22, a new $3,000 red Honda EU 3000 generator was stolen from a campsite at Silver Beach in Seymour Arm.

A few days later a 2011 black Blazer utility trailer was stolen from a residence in the Lee Creek area. The tandem axle trailer, Alberta plate number 4DG952, has a ‘Blazer’ logo on the side and had a Skil mitre saw, vehicle jack and a tire on a rim inside. A hitch lock had been installed at the time of the theft. It’s believed the theft happened between Aug. 24 and 25, while the owner was away.

On Aug. 28 a blue 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup trcuk, B.C. plate number JEO124, was stolen from a residence on Cottonwood Street in Chase. The vehicle was locked and it appears a window was broken to gain access. The vehicle has lots of rust and missing paint.

Around 3:30 a.m. the following day the side window of a 1993 Ford Ranger was found smashed out. The vehicle was parked on First Avenue in Chase.

Anyone with information about any of these incidents is asked to call Chase RCMP at 250-679-3221 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Chase RCMP is also reminding drivers that with school starting next week school speed zones will be in effect and it is illegal, and dangerous, to pass school buses that are stopped with lights flashing. Officers will be conducting enforcement activities during back to school.
