Forty per cent of vaccinated Canadians aren't enthusiastic about receiving a fourth COVID booster shot.
A recent Angus Reid survey found only 61 per cent of vaccinated Canadians were eager to receive a fourth booster shot. Those over 54 years of age were most in favour of getting the booster with 73 per cent of men and 81 per cent of women wanting the extra protection.
The survey comes in the wake of an emerging seventh wave of COVID-19 spurred by a new Omicron variant and health officials proclaiming the need for a fourth vaccination.
The survey found that Canadians who have already had three or four shots were more willing to have a booster shot than those who'd only had one or two shots.

Only 17 per cent of those that had had one or two shots were willing to get another vaccine dose, and 60 per cent said they wouldn't get one.
British Columbians, along with those in Atlantic Canada, were more willing to get another booster shot, while Albertans were the least willing.
More than half of Canadians (54 per cent) wanted their government to speed up the timeline for boosters and offer a fourth dose to all adults who want one as soon as possible.
And some already vaccinated Canadians now believe that further boosters are not necessary or even effective.
One-in-five Canadians (22 per cent) say they don't believe that keeping up with vaccinations gives a person protection against either infection or serious illness.
Men under 55 years old were most likely to not favour more vaccines with 36 per cent saying that a fourth dose was unnecessary entirely.
