KELOWNA - The Portland Winterhawks defeated the Kelowna Rockets 4-3 in overtime on Friday night at Prospera Place in Kelowna, coming from behind to hand the Rockets their first home ice loss of the season.

Despite the loss, the Rockets remain in first place in the WHL at 21-1-3-0 on the season.

The Rockets jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead after the first period on goals by Tyrell Goulbourne, Jesse Lees and Kris Schmidli but the game turned in the second as the Winterhawks took over.

Jackson Whistle was outstanding in net as the Hawks fired 52 shots on the Rockets net including 37 in the final two periods as the Rockets appeared sluggish in its first home game after returning from a five game road trip.
