Meals On Wheels Drivers - We're looking for volunteers to pick up meals at the Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) and deliver them to clients' homes (Southshore and Northshore) between 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Tues. & Thurs. The drivers brighten the day for many people in our community that are home bound by showing concern, checking in, and having a friendly short chat. The volunteers will use their own vehicles and gas. A tax receipt will be issued at the end of the year for mileage driven. 18+ to volunteer. 250-554-3134

Support Group Facilitators (Chase, Ashcroft, & Merritt) - Are you interested in making a real and profound difference in the lives of people caring for a family member with Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia? The support group facilitators organize caregiver meetings, communicating with the Alzheimer Society of B.C. staff, maintain group attendance records and use Alzheimer Society materials to provide information to the groups. The objective of our groups is to strengthen the coping abilities of caregivers and reduce the impact of dementia on the community. *Please note that we're looking for facilitators in Chase, Ashcroft, and Merritt at this time. In-School Mentoring (Big Buddy) - The volunteers will be a positive role model and have a desire to make a difference in the life of a child. Administrative Assistant Volunteers - The volunteers will assist with various administrative tasks including database and spreadsheet entries, updating forms, uploading website content, organizing digital photos, and receptionist duties. The volunteers must have computer experience including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Publisher), and have a good command of English. 18+ to volunteer.
