Double stabbing in Kamloops Saturday wasn't a random act of violence. RCMP are telling the public not to be concerned for their safety.

The RCMP in Kamloops isn’t releasing many details about the circumstances surrounding a stabbing that sent people to hospital early this morning.
The police were called at about 5 a.m. to the 400 block of Columbia Street. Two people had been stabbed, a man and a woman. Both are adults. They were taken to the Royal Inland Hospital, treated and released.
Police aren’t releasing any information about what kind of weapon or weapons were used in the stabbing. There are reports the man and woman suffered multiple puncture wounds.
“This wasn’t a random attack,” Sgt. Edward Preto says in a media release. “ The public doesn’t need to be concerned for their safety.”
The Kamloops RCMP Serious Crime Unit is investigating.
