PENTICTON - The Stanley Cup will be raised in the city thanks to two-time cup champion Duncan Keith.
The Chicago Blackhawks defenceman and former Penticton Panther player will hoist the Stanley Cup, at Gyro Park on Saturday at 11 a.m. to celebrate Keith's 2013 Stanley Cup victory.
Every member of the Chicago Blackhawks team enjoys one day with the Stanley Cup and Aug. 31 will be the second time Keith shared his day with Penticton.
Deputy mayor Helena Konanz is thrilled with the visit. "This event proves Penticton is a hotbed for hockey talent.”
A special invite has been extended to players of the Upper Dek Vees, B.C.’s only special needs hockey team.
Autographs will not be available due to time limitations but the public is welcome to bring their cameras.
