KAMLOOPS - RCMP are conducting an investigation into an armed robbery that happened this afternoon at Mac's Convenience Store at 205 Tranquille Road.

The clerk told police a woman came in to the store alone wearing a red coat and carrying a knife at about 1:25 p.m. She told the clerk to give her money and the clerk did as asked. The suspect then fled on foot. She was last seen heading north on Tranquille Road.

The area was closed off by investigators and searched, but the suspect was not found.

She is described as a Caucasian, in her late '30s wearing a red winter jacket. She had the hood pulled up over her heard and face in an attempt to conceal her features. She was also wearing grey sweatpants, though they may have been snowpants.

The investigation continues.
