NEW PROGRAM REWARDS GREAT NEIGHBOURS
A new District program aims to celebrate great neighbours who help others with the often dreaded chore of snow shoveling! With each snowfall, it can be a significant challenge for many residents to keep their sidewalks clear of snow and ice. The District’s Snow Star Program encourages residents to lend a helping hand to those who may be unable to clear snow and ice from sidewalks. For these selfless acts, you could get nominated to win a great prize!
Be A Snow Star
The District of West Kelowna’s Snow Star Program is about recognizing those residents who assist others in our community without being asked or expecting thanks. All residents are asked to consider adopting the sidewalk of a neighbour and help to keep it clear and safe!
Nominate Your Snow Star
Do you know someone who regularly clears your sidewalk of snow and ice? Send us a letter, e-mail or fill in the application form to nominate your Snow Star for a great prize to be drawn at random at the end of the season.
The nomination deadline is March 15, 2014. To be eligible, your Snow Star must be a resident of the District of West Kelowna. More information, and nominations forms, can be found on the District’s website, www.districtofwestkelowna.ca, under Residents/Snow Star Program.
